***************************************************************************** Procedures for CL-PD6832 CardBus driver installation when you finish Windows95 OSR2 Setup. ***************************************************************************** Operating System: OSR2 August Version Windows 95 Files needed: CBSS.VXD dated 11/27/96 PCMCIA.INF dated 02/15/97 These files are located on the A:\PCMCIA.W95 diretory. Copy CBSS.VXD from A:\PCMCIA.W95 to c:\windows\system directory overwriting the original one. Copy PCMCIA.INF from A:\PCMCIA.W95 to c:\windows\inf directory overwriting the original one. Note: c:\windows\inf directory is a hidden directory. It cannot be seen but can be accessed. Delete DRVIDX.BIN and DRVDATA.BIN from the c:\windows\inf directory. 1. Restart computer and press F8 make system into multi-boot menu, then select "Safe mode" 2. Click on the System icon in Control Panel. 3. Select the Device Manager tab and click on Other Devices icon. 4. Remove two "PCI Cardbus Bridge" (if now isn't in safe mode, the system will hang up) then restart computer. 5. You will see the Windows 95 re-enumerate all device. Windows will attempt to re-install the original CBSS.VXD files. It prompts a version conflict window. Choose YES to keep the new CBSS.VXD file. Windows will do this twice. One per each socket. After the system is refreshed, make sure the Cirrus Logic CardBus controller is identified. If have red X appear on both sockets, Because 32-bit PCMCIA support has not yet been enabled. Choose OK to reboot the system. Click on PC Card icon in Control Panel to run PC Card Wizard. This will enable the 32-bit PCMCIA driver. NOTES: if the Cirrus Logic CardBus Controller is still not identified after the above installation procedures, make sure that the new CBSS.VXD had NOT been overwritten by the original one. The correct CBSS.VXD is dated 02/15/97. This installation procedure is only for August release of OSR2. Subesquent releases of Windows 95 will automatically detect and install the Cirrus Logic Cardbus driver. ============================================================================ Procedures for ESS-1878 audio driver installation when you finish Windows95 OSR2 Setup. ============================================================================= 1. Click System icon under Control Panel and select "Device Manager". 2. Remove "ESS ES1688 AudioDrive" and "Gameport Joystick" from Device Manager "Sound,video and game controllers" section. 3. Select "Other Device" and double clike on "Unknow device" then select "Driver" and click on "update driver" item. Please choice "Yes(Recommended)". 4. Insert the "VGA/Audio Driver" Diskette into Floppy Drive. 5. Please click "Other Locations" and key-in "A:\audio.w95" then click "OK". 6. Then follow the screen instruction.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
