Files do not install during the installation
--------------------------------------------
Before installing the HP LaserJet 6P/6MP Printing System, close
all applications and TSR (Terminate and Stay Resident) programs
that load at startup (in Windows or DOS) such as virus checkers,
fax utilities, etc., and all other applications that may be open.
Also close all shell utilities such as: Microsoft Office Manager,
Norton Desktop, Dashboard, etc. Lastly, exit any previous version
of HP Status Window that may be running.

Document does not print correctly
---------------------------------
Several things can cause a document to not print correctly; not
enough memory in the printer to handle the document being printed,
incorrect behavior by applications, Windows or printer drivers, or
incorrect settings in the printer drivers. If using the HP
LaserJet 6P/6MP - Standard printer driver, try printing in either
HP-GL/2 or Raster modes or changing resolutions from 600 to 300.
These modes can be selected in the printer setup dialog under the
Print Quality sheet. If neither of these modes fixes the problem
try using the HP LaserJet 6P/6MP - Enhanced printer driver. If the
problem occurs while printing with the HP LaserJet 6P/6MP - Enhanced
printer driver, try using the HP LaserJet 6P/6MP - Standard printer
driver.

HP JetAdmin Users
-----------------
Users of the HP network printer support utility, HP JetAdmin, must use
version 2.32 with the HP LaserJet 6P/6MP printer. HP JetAdmin 2.32
is available through HP Software Distribution Services. HP JetAdmin
2.32 is included with printers that are shipped with the CD-ROM
software package.

General
-------
The user cannot print to a HP LaserJet 6P/6MP printer with drivers
other than the supplied HP LaserJet 6P/6MP printer drivers.

SIMM Slot Identification
-------------------------
The Self Test printout configuration page incorrectly reports the
SIMM slot number. Physical slot #1 is reported as slot #3 and
visa versa.

Standard Driver
---------------
Nothing

Enhanced Driver
---------------
When using the N-up feature, bitmap fonts are not scaled. The only
workaround is to change the font to a TrueType font and make sure the
option TrueType as Bitmaps is NOT checked.

When Manual Feed is used with a custom paper, there is not a pause
before the printer pulls the paper. The user should verify they
have the correct paper in Tray 1 before printing on custom media.

When using the N-up feature, the user should keep in mind that the
first page of each physical page determines the orientation. For
example, if there is a 5-page document that is being printed 4 pages
per sheet and the first page is Landscape, the second and third are
Portrait, the fourth Landscape and the fifth is Portrait, when
printed four pages per sheet, the first sheet will be Landscape
and the second will be Portrait.

When using the N-up feature, the user should keep in mind that
the first page of the job each physical page determines the page
size of the entire job. For example, if there is a three page
document that is being printed two pages per sheet and the first
page is 5x7, the second is letter, and the third is 6x6, when
printed two pages per sheet, all will print on 5x7. the first
sheet will be 5x7 and the second sheet will be 6x6.

When using the Fit-to-Page feature, the user should be aware that
the page will be scaled until one direction is at a maximum size.

When printing FontSmart fonts and an error occurs, when the user
hits the GO button, they will receive an XL error page that
reports "TEXT, Insufficient Memory". The workaround is to print
the fonts using the Standard driver.

PostScript Driver
-----------------
When printing certain fonts from within FontSmart, for example
Garamond and Bodini, the user will receive a PostScript error page
reporting that the job requires more memory. The user could use
the Standard driver to print these fonts, but the fonts may look
slightly different.

Applets (HP toolbox (Win 95) and HP Utility (Win 3.x))
--------------------------------------------
On the Page Setup tab, the user cannot change Page Size and Form
Lines at one time. If the user does this, Form Lines defaults
to a certain value according to the Page Size. The user must
change Page Size, click OK, reopen the Applet, change Form Lines,
and click OK in order for their value to stick for Form Lines.

On the Resources tab, the user cannot change Resource Savings to
ON and set Resource Savings Size at one time. If the user does
this, the value they set for Resource Savings Size does not stick.
The user must change Resource Savings to ON, click OK, reopen
the Applet, change Resource Savings Size, and click OK in order
for their value to stick for Resource Savings Size.

Status Window (Win 3.x only)
----------------------------
The Status Window reports Check Cover/Toner not only when there
is a problem with the cover or toner, but also when there is a
Paper Jam. The user can look at the Control Panel message
provided in the Utility for an accurate error message.

Installer
---------
Win 3.x only - If the user does an English installation over a
localized installation, or a localized installation over a
different localized installation, a GPF will occur at the
end of the installation. The workaround is to do the
installation again. It works the second time.

PostScript Installer only - If the user installs the 6MP over
the 5MP, they will get the Adobe PostScript error "PS_ENUM
version incompatible with adobeps". The only way to get the
6MP PostScript driver in this situation is to delete all the
5MP PostScript driver files.
