Introduction:
=============

  This document shows you how to setup the driver and how to use the enhanced
  functions by setting the custom keywords.

NOTE: Before starting with the installation process, make sure that the adapter
      is properly installed and configured.


(B) Installing the driver for Microsoft Windows 98SE/ME
===========================================================

    1. Turn the power of your PC on to boot from Windows 98. The system
       auto-detects your new adapter installed, and the "New Hardware Found"
       dialogue box will appear. Select "Driver from disk provided by hardware
       manufacturer" to install driver from the diskette that come with your
       lan adapter.

    2. Insert the driver diskette into your floppy drive, and specify the
       path of the driver in the diskette(i.e. A:\windows\winme) to copy the driver
       files to your system.

    3. Select "Realtek RTL8169/8110 Family Gigabit Ethernet NIC", and start to copy the
       files to your system.

    4. When the driver installation is completed, restart Windows 98/98SE/ME.



(C) Installing the driver for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0
===========================================================

    1. Open "Control Panel" -> "Networks", and choose the "Add Adapter" button.
       The Add Noetwork Adapter dialog box appears.  Select "<other> Requires
       disk from manufacturer" in the list of Network Adapters, and then press
       <Enter>.

    2. Insert the driver diskette into your floppy drive, and specify the
       path of the driver in the diskette(i.e. A:\windows\WinNT4) if necessary.

    3. Select "Realtek RTL8169/8110 Family Gigabit Ethernet NIC", and start to copy the
       files to your system.

    4. After all the driver files have been copied to your system, a property
       dialog box appears in the screen. You can enable the special properties
       if you want to.

    5. When the driver installation is completed, restart your PC.


(D) Installing the driver for Microsoft Windows 2000 series , Windows XP series
===============================================================================

    1. Turn the power of your PC on to boot from Windows 2000 or Windows XP. 
       The system auto-detects your new adapter installed, and the 
       "New Hardware Found" dialogue box will appear. Click the Next button in
       the "Found New Hardware Wizard" dialogue box. Then select the option "Search 
       for a suitable driver for my device (recommended)" and click the Next button.

    2. Select "Specify a location from Optional search locations:" of "Found New
       Hardware Wizard" dialog box, then click <NEXT> button.Insert the driver 
       diskette into your floppy drive, and select the option "Floppy disk drives".
       
    3. Enter the driver pathname, then click the <NEXT> button from "Found New 
       Hardware Wizard" dialog box.
       Example :
             A:\windows\Win2000     (For Windows 2000)
         or  A:\windows\WinXP       (For Windows XP)
 
    4. After finishing the files copied, click the Finish button in the "Found New
       Hardware Wizard" dialogue box.

    5. To complete the process, please follow the instructions on the screen.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
