PROTOCOL.INI Driver File Contents (pcm_48e26.zip)

; protocol.ini entries for the SMC9000 card.

; The driver name varies depending on how many adapters are installed
; in the system. The first adapter is always referenced through
; SMC9X$. For example, the second adapter's driver name is
; SMC9X2$, the ninth adapter's drivername is SMC9X9$. More than
; nine adapters are not supported. This is a common naming convention
; among NDIS drivers. For example, the PROTOCOL.INI entry should look
;    like this
;

  DriverName = "SMC9X$"

; The presence of the PCMCIA keyword indicates that the driver is
; interfacing with a Credit Card adapter.

  PCMCIA

; The full path to the helper VxD used to support the dual function
; adapter. The default location is the Windows System directory.

  PATH = "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM"

; The possible interrupts range from 3 to 15. The default is 5.
; If Card Services is present and this values is left unspecified
; it is negociated with it.

  Interrupt = 5

; The I/O base address specifies the location of the SMC9000 adapter.
; The default is 200. If Card Services is present and this values is
; left unspecified it is negotiated with it.

  IOBase = 0x200

; Media type of the attached network. Possible values are 10BaseT, BNC,
; AUI, MII and AUTO. The default is the type specified in the SMC9000
;   EEPROM.

; Transceiver = "10BaseT"

; The ethernet address to which the card will respond may be overridden.
; The new value is specified as a string of hex digits separated by dashes.
; The default is the value specified in the SMC9000 EEPROM or on the CIS
;   for PCMCIA boards.

; NetworkAddress = "02-00-00-00-00-01"

; The amount of queueing space in the driver to process transmit requests
; may be specified. Values are in the range 1 to 40. The default is 1.

  MaxTransmits = 1

; The normal interface presented by the SMC9000 is 16 bits wide. For
; situations where an 8 bit interface is required, this interface
; may be forced via the Disable16 keyword. Note that this option has
; no effect if the card itself is jumpered for 16 bit operation.

;  Disable16

; When using PCMCIA cards with an enabler the NDIS driver is notified
; whether the card is single or dual function by using the "Board"
; parameter. A 0 (zero) value identifies a single function card while
;   1 a dual function card. Default is 1.

;  Board = 1

; For Dual function PCMCIA cards with enablers only. The MemWindow
; parameter specifies the area in system memory where the PCMCIA
; registers memory Window will be located. Default is D0000. This
; area must be excluded from range the used by EMM386 (ie with the
;   X=D000-D0FF option).

;  MemWindow = 0xD000

; For Dual function PCMCIA cards with enablers only. This parameter
; specifies the location of the modem's COM port. Default is COM2
;   (2F8h). Other values that can be used include COM1 (3F8h), COM3
; (3E8h), COM4 (2E8). Verify the settings match in your comunications
;   program

;  ComBase = 0x2F8

; For Dual function PCMCIA cards with enablers only. This parameter
; specifies the IRQ used by the modem's COM port. Default is COM2
;   (3). Other values that can be used include COM1 (4), COM3 (4),
; COM4 (3). Verify the settings match in your comunications program

;  ComIRQ = 3
