installing a new one. Please ensure that PrintGuide is not
running while installing. If any files the update program needs
to overwrite are blocked, you will be asked to restart the machine.

The Sweep utility can be configured to do the update during the
night. It can be configured to start at a certain time.
An e-mail can be send to the administrator with an attached log.
When updating firmware, the Sweep Utility is able to locate the
relevant firmware files from a given directory.
The Sweep can be used to backup configurations from all devices
in the network, to update all devices in the network with new
firmware, to restart print servers during night and much more...
* VPA Check setting added to IPDS configuration sheet
* Support for password/lock protection for hardware print servers.
Same password/lock functionality as known from most software
based print servers.
* Auto IP support.
* Support for enabling/disabling of FTP protocol.
* Support for new products.
* PrintGuide update reminder notification.
PrintGuide detects if it discovers one or more unknown device(s). If
that happens, a dialog pops up with a message that suggests to

with PrintGuide's web site directly from the dialog.
* Support for web interface settings (HTTP): Port number and time out.

different from "Ready".

The way PrintGuide enumerates trays has been changed. If
changing a tray value for a specific language, the PRESENT
parameter will automatically be set to YES for this language.
* Filter functionality now works on all Windows XP installations.
* Monitor Load problem solved.
When previous versions loaded the monitor list data from file,
the print servers that was included in the load data but was turned
off, did not show up in the list. All print servers in the internal
list was idenltifyed after load, and only the print servers that
replied was reported to the GUI. This is now fixed.

---------------- Version S42 065.19x ----------------
New Features:
* Filename can now be specified for replacement strings.
Only some PrintServers can handle this.
* Windows XP look and feel on Windows XP.
* The Logical Printer Configuration dialog is now sizeable.
This feature makes it easier to i.e. overview and
configure a large number of printer trays.
* Special characters conversion.
Chararters that are not valid in ITDS (e.g. double quotes) can
now be used where the PrintServer supports escape-characters
(e.g. PDF settings, Spool Options etc). This mean that the
user now can enter a double quote and a double quote appears
on the screen. PrintGuide converts the double quote to an escape
character when the parameter is converted to ITDS. When the
parameter is read from ITDS the opposite happens (e.g. 0x22
converted to "). To satisfy The advanced user, it is still
possible to enter escape characters.
* Printer Memory can be configured.
* Enhanced printer trays and printer output bin setup.
* IPDS Resolution for IBM IP40 can be configured.
* Direct configuration selection of Logical Printers from Monitor View.
When double-clicking a Logical Printer in the Monitor View,
PrintGuide selects the corresponding Logical Printer in
the Configuration View after the configuration has been uploaded,
and launches the Logical Printer Configuration dialog.
* DCA Matrix settings for DocOut.
The Language dropdown list in the SCS/DCA settings sheet has been
extended with a 'Matrix' option. When selecting Matrix, a
a new dropdovn list occours below the language dropdown list.
In this new dropdown it is possible to choose which matrix emulation
to use. Note: This feature is only available on PrintServers
supporting Matrix option settings.
* New menu entry: "Monitor | Clear Monitor List"
* New menu entry: "Monitor | Add device(s)..."
It is now possible to add a new PrintServer to the Monitor List.
A wizard will guide you through the process. It is here
possible to import and export a list of addresses and to specify
whether the current Net Group (PrintGuide's internal list of
discovered devices) should be updated. This is a convenient way
to add new PrintServers without having to broadcast the entire
network.
Note: PrintGuide's internal list of discovered devices can be
automatically or manually saved and reloaded to files (see the
Preferences dialog).
* 'Restart...' menu entry added to PrintServer Menu.
It is now possible to force the selected PrintServer to restart.

up and down keys), press <ENTER>
* Miscellaneous.

In some cases the PDF/PS/PCL tab disappeared when text fields
are cleared in the PDF/PS/PCL Settings sheet.
* The 'Monitor Files' setting in Preferences dialog can now be
changed from an invalid name to a valid name (before it reverted
back to the invalid name).

selected Logical Printer.
* Support for new products.
