General Issues ================= (1) The camera icon may persist, causing an error the next time the camera is connected, if, during a connection, the camera's power is shut off, the USB cable is detached or the camera automatically powers down after being left alone for an extended period. The camera may not function correctly if reconnected during this condition. If this happens, shut down and restart the computer before attempting to reconnect. (2) If you have set the WIA Driver settings to start ZoomBrowser EX when the camera is connected, the ZoomBrowser EX camera window may not open automatically at startup. To use the camera window, double-click the Canon camera icon in the ZoomBrowser EX window. (3) If you have set [Save all pictures to this folder] in the camera Properties, extensions are not added to the names of copied RAW images and movies. Choose a copied image and select [Rename], or uncheck [Save all pictures to this folder] then right-click the camera icon and select [Save All...] from the pop-up menu. (4) If you have set [Actions] in the camera Properties, in some cases the settings may not be reflected. (5) When a certain program is set to start up on establishing connection with the camera in the WIA driver's settings, the stated up program may display error messages such as [Cannot find the TWAIN data source. Reinstall the scanner software.] In this case, use WIA-TWAIN driver, selecting [WIA-model] as the TWAIN device in the start up program. (6) RAW images and movies from the camera cannot be saved to the computer with the WIA-TWAIN Driver. (7) Using the WIA-TWAIN Driver with the view setting set to [Detail] may result in an error message or a system shutdown. If this occurs, select the [Thumbnails] view setting to use the WIA-TWAIN Driver. 2. Issues with the [Scanner and Camera Wizard] ============================================== (1) The image properties contents may be lost if an image in the camera is rotated with the [Scanner and Camera Wizard]. (2) The thumbnail of an image in the camera that is saved to the computer with the [Scanner and Camera Wizard] may appear in wrong rotated orientation, regardless of whether the image was rotated in the Wizard, or not. (3) Incorrect Time Setting with Auto Save The recording date of saved images may be advanced or delayed several hours if you have set the WIA Driver settings to automatically save all camera images to disk when a camera is connected. (4) If you copy image data by dragging and dropping it into another folder from the window summoned by clicking [Explore Camera (Advanced)] in the [Scanner and Camera Wizard], an error may occur with subsequent use of the Wizard. To prevent this error, do not copy image data from the window summoned by clicking [Explore camera (Advanced)] in the Wizard. (5) RAW images and movies in the camera cannot be saved to the computer with the [Scanner and Camera Wizard]. 3. Issues Regarding Viewing and Acquiring Camera Images with [My Computer] ================================================================ (1) The camera images may not display correctly in the thumbnails list created after opening the camera icon from [My Computer]. If this happens, click the [View] menu and select [Refresh]. (2) The recording date of camera images saved to the computer by dragging and dropping them in Windows Explorer may be advanced or delayed several hours. (3) When RAW images and movies in the camera are copied to the computer using drag-and-drop function, [Copy To] button, [Copy] and [Paste] from the menu or other procedurs, the extensions are not added to their names. To reverse to the original name, choose an image and select [Rename] from the menu. Also the thumbnail image files are not copied with the image files. If you wish to include the thumbnail image file, choose an image and select [Save...] from the menu. (4) When [Detail] is selected from the [View] menu, extensions are not displayed in the names of RAW images and movies. To see the extensions, choose an image and select [Properties] from the menu. (5) Double-clicking RAW image or movie does not start up the associated application. To start up the application, right-click an image and select [Convert] or [Play], or choose the application in the [Open With] dialog after double-clicking the image. (6) If in the camera there are several files with the same file name, errors may occur when displaying their thumbnails. ----------------------------- General Issues for Windows XP ----------------------------- 1. General Issues ================= (1) When a certain program is set to start up on establishing connection with the camera in the WIA driver's settings, the stated up program may display error messages such as [Cannot find the TWAIN data source. Reinstall the scanner software.] In this case, use WIA-TWAIN driver, selecting [WIA-model] as the TWAIN device in the start up program. (2) RAW images and movies from the camera cannot be saved to the computer with the WIA-TWAIN Driver. 2. Issues with the [Scanner and Camera Wizard] ============================================== (1) The thumbnail of an image in the camera that is saved to the computer with the [Scanner and Camera Wizard] may appear in wrong rotated orientation regardless of whether the image was rotated in the Wizard or not. 3. Issues Regarding Viewing and Acquiring Camera Images with [My Computer] ================================================================ (1) The camera images may not display correctly in the thumbnails list created after opening the camera icon from [My Computer]. If this happens, click the [View] menu and select [Refresh]. (2) When RAW images or movies from the camera are copied to computer, using - drag and drop - [Copy this file] from [Files and Folders Tasks] - [Copy] & [Paste] from the menu or other methods, thumbnail image files will not be copied. If you wish to save thumbnail image file, select an image and choose [Save...] from the menu. (3) Double-clicking RAW image or movie does not start up the associated application. To start up the application, right-click an image and select [Convert] or [Play]. (4) If you open camera from [My Computer] when there are more than several hundreds images in the camera, images may not display or disconnection of the camera may occur. If this happens, after restarting the computer, save the images with the [Scanner and Camera Wizard] without opening the camera from [My Computer]. You can delete the images in the camera during saving by checking on the [Delete pictures from my device after copying them] option. (5) If in the camera there are several files with the same file name, errors may occur when displaying their thumbnails. 4. Issues with the Event Start-up Settings ========================================== When setting up the event start-up please choose either settings (1) or settings (2). If other settings are used, the camera will not operate properly when it is connected. (1) To start ZoomBrowser EX when the camera is connected follow the procedures down below. - From the [Control Panel] click on [Scanners and Cameras] and select the camera that is connected. - From the right-click menu select [Properties]. The Properties Dialog box will open. - Select the [Events] tab. - Set [Select an event] to [Default], and select [Take no action]. - Set [Select an event] to [(name of camera) Connected], and set [Start this program] to [Canon ZoomBrowser EX]. - Click [OK] to complete the settings. (2) To start the [Scanner and Camera Wizard] when the camera is connected follow the procedures down below. - From the [Control Panel] click on [Scanners and Cameras] and select the camera that is connected. - From the right-click menu select [Properties]. The Properties Dialog box will open. - Select the [Events] tab. - Set [Select an event] to [Default], and set [Start this program] to [Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard]. - Set [Select an event] to [(name of camera) Connected], and select [Take no action]. - Click [OK] to complete the settings. 5. Caution for When Using Various Canon Cameras ================================================ If, as a result of newly installing another Canon Camera WIA Driver, your previously used Canon Camera WIA Driver ceases to work normally, please perform the following install correction procedure. - Turn off the power of the Canon Camera in which the Canon Camera WIA Driver has failed. - Re-start the computer. - Connect the failed Canon Camera. - Do not operate the [My Computer] Canon Camera Icon that appears at this time. Also, if [Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard] or Application Software are started, the procedure will end here. - Select [Control Panel] from the [Start] menu and [Control Panel] will be displayed. - If [Switch to Classic View] is displayed in the top left of [Control Panel], click on it to switch to Classic View. - Select [System] from [Control Panel] and [System Properties] will be displayed. - Select the [Hardware] tab from [System Properties] and click on the [Device Manager] button. [Device Manager] will be displayed. - Open [Imaging Devices] from [Device Manager] and the Icon of the connected Canon Camera will be displayed. - Right click on the connected Canon Camera Icon and select [Uninstall] from the menu that appears. - Turn off the power of the Canon Camera. - Re-start the computer. - Conect the failed Canon Camera. - The Canon Camera WIA Driver will be read once more to Windows, and the procedure is finished.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
