GENERAL ISSUES ================= (1) Persistent Camera Icon Error The camera icon may persist, causing an error the next time the camera is connected, if, during a connection, the camera's power is shut off, the USB cable is detached or the camera automatically powers down after being left alone for an extended period. If this happens, shut down and restart the computer before attempting to reconnect. (2) "TWAIN Data Source not found. Please reinstall scanner software." Error Message If you have set the WIA Driver settings to start a specific program when the camera is connected, that program may display an error message similar to that above. If this happens, select [WIA-(your camera model)] as the TWAIN device in that program and use the WIA TWAIN Driver. (3) Camera Window Doesn't Open Automatically at ZoomBrowser EX Startup If you have set the WIA Driver settings to start ZoomBrowser EX when the camera is connected, the ZoomBrowser EX camera window may not open automatically at startup. To use the camera window, double-click the Canon camera icon in the ZoomBrowser EX window. (4) Error in Using WIA TWAIN Driver with 'Detail' view setting Using the WIA TWAIN Driver with the view setting set to Detail may result in an error message or a system shutdown. If this occurs, select the Thumbnails view setting to use the WIA TWAIN Driver. 2. ISSUES WITH THE SCANNERS AND CAMERAS WIZARD ============================================== (1) Loss of Image Properties Data with Rotation in Wizard The image properties contents may be lost if an image in the camera is rotated with the Scanners and Cameras Wizard. (2) Images Rotated in Wizard Do Not Show Rotation The thumbnail of an image in the camera that is rotated and saved to disk with the Scanners and Cameras Wizard may not appear in its rotated orientation. (3) Images Rotated in Camera Do Not Show Rotation in Wizard Thumbnails of images rotated with the camera may also not appear in the rotated orientation in the Scanners and Cameras Wizard. (4) Incorrect Time Setting with Auto Save The recording date of saved images may be advanced or delayed several hours if you have set the WIA Driver settings to automatically save all camera images to disk when a camera is connected. (5) Camera Search Error If you copy image data by dragging and dropping it into another folder from the window summoned by clicking Explore Camera (Advanced) in the Scanners and Cameras Wizard, an error may occur with subsequent use of the Scanners and Cameras Wizard. To prevent this error, do not copy image data from the window summoned by clicking Explore Camera (Advanced) in the Scanners and Cameras Wizard. (6) RAW Image Conversion by Wizard RAW images in the camera saved to the computer with the Scanners and Cameras Wizard are automatically converted and saved in the BMP file format. (7) Movie Files Not Supported by Wizard Movie files in the camera cannot be saved to the computer with the Scanners and Cameras Wizard. 3. ISSUES REGARDING VIEWING AND ACQUIRING CAMERA IMAGES WITH WINDOWS EXPLORER ============================================================================= (1) Refresh Required The camera images may not display correctly in Windows Explorer or My Computer window. If this happens, click the View menu and select Refresh. (2) Incorrect Time Setting The recording date of camera images saved to the computer by dragging and dropping them in Windows Explorer may be advanced or delayed several hours. (3) Thumbnail Image Files Not Copied Thumbnail image files of RAW images and movies in the camera are not copied with the image files to the computer with the copying procedures below. - Dragging and dropping in Windows Explorer - Copy option in the right-click pop-up menu. If you wish to include the thumbnail image files, right-click the images and select the Save option in the pop-up menu. ----------------------------- GENERAL ISSUES FOR Windows XP ----------------------------- 1. GENERAL ISSUES ================= (1) "TWAIN Data Source not found. Please reinstall scanner software." If other settings are used, the camera will not operate properly when it is connected. (1) To start ZoomBrowser EX when the camera is connected follow the procedures down below. - From the [Control Panel] click on [Scanner and Camera] and select the camera that is connected. - From the right-click menu select [Properties]. The Properties Dialog box will open. - Select the [Events] tab. - Set [Select an event] to [Default], and select [Take no action]. - Set [Select an event] to [(name of camera) Connected], and set [Start this program] to [Canon ZoomBrowser EX]. - Click [OK] to complete the settings. (2) To start Scanner and Camera Wizard when the camera is connected follow the procedures down below. - From the [Control Panel] click on [Scanners and Cameras] and select the camera that is connected. - From the right-click menu select [Properties]. The Properties Dialog box will open. - Select the [Events] tab. - Set [Select an event] to [Default], and set [Start this program] to [Scanner and Camera Wizard]. - Set [Select an event] to [(name of camera) Connected], and select [Take no action]. - Click [OK] to complete the settings. <End of File>Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
