REAL/32 Upgrade Disk Version 7.54 Batch 08-96-01 SRN0167.WP Written 31 July 1996 (RM) 1. Reason for release This disk upgrades an installed REAL/32 7.5, 7.51, 7.52 and 7.53 batches 07-95-01 up to 04-96-01 to REAL/32 batch 08-96-01. This disk is available on the IMS Bulletin Board as R32UP754.ZIP in the REAL/32 area. 2. Release identification The disk label will have the batch number 08-96-01 and the release version will be 7.54. 3. Bug fixes The following bugs are fixed in this release: BDB Ref 4688 Some DPMI applications could cause the system to lose memory each time they ran. BDB Ref 4695 When the year rolls over on 31st December 1999 it became 1st January 2156. 4. Limitations If the Systems Axis OEM version of REAL/32 7.53 with the restricted bit set is used to upgrade a normal IMS REAL/32, then the 132 column mode support provided by the OEM version will be lost. We recommend that you do NOT install REAL/32 on partitions formatted with the FDISK utility supplied with TANDON MSDOS. If you are running Microsoft Visual Basic for DOS, turn off DPMI support in the DOS session you are going to use with DPMISET DPMI=OFF. This is due to Visual Basic assuming that if DPMI is present XMS is also present. The CLARION 3.007 debugger does not work with REAL/32. We recommend using the 3.009 version instead. Trying to use NETDRIVE /r for drives other than the bootdrive in AUTOEXEC.BAT may fail. A work around is to make the drive to NETDRIVE the current drive first. e.g. d: netdrive d: /r The MOUSE.SYS supplied with REAL/32 does not properly support the Microsoft bus mouse. The scheduler for Mountain tape streamer does not work with this release. If a secure system is rebooted while users are still logged in the LOGIN.LOG file may still record these users as logged in after the reboot. Idle detection causes MSBASIC to run slowly. Set IDLE = OFF for the DOS session MSBASIC is running on. Idle detection does not work with Quattro Pro when it is displaying a graph. When COPILOT is viewing a DOS session with pop up session menu (CTRL ESC) displayed, COPILOT will accept no keystrokes. The user must quit from the menu before COPILOT will continue to function normally. 5.
